| Description: Marines aboard a LAV-25 Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) keep a sharp watch around their vehicle after their patrol was stopped by supporters of Gen. Manuel Noriega on the road leading into the town. The patrol, a reinforced platoon of LAVs from Company B, 2nd Light Armored Infantry Battalion, was conducting a route reconnaissance when its path was blocked. When nearby Panamanian Defense Force (PDF) soldiers refused to disperse the crowd, the LAVs took another route and completed the patrol. (USN PHOTO BY PH1(SW) J. ALAN ELLIOTT DN-ST-90-02139) |
